As part of our commitment to continuous improvement DCT has reviewed the procurement of any subcontractors that we propose to use. We are determined to:
- Improve the process of prequalifying subcontractors for a position on our 'approved' list
- Provide our estimating and construction teams with an appropriate selection of subcontractors to bid for and undertake work on our contracts
- Demonstrate our positive approach to issues such as safety, occupational health, environmental stewardship and diversity.
We have chosen ConstructionLine, the Government's national database of assessed contractors and consultants to perform our prequalification procedures, and we believe membership will benefit our supply chain in the following ways:
- Fit to Supply: By joining ConstructionLine we are satisfied that your company is fit to supply which means you fulfil the minimum requirements for us to work with you.
- Save Resources: Reduce the amount of time you spend on administration. Rather than fill in periodic lengthy 'approved supplier' questionnaires, you simply complete one application form and submit renewal information.
- Opportunities Notice Board: You will ahve access to the new ConstructionLine Opportunities Notice Board making you aware of all of the latest tender opportunities across the UK and opportunities posted by ConstructionLine Buyers.
- Access More Buyers: Over 8,500 buyers regularly use the system from central government departments to councils, NHS trusts and main contractors.
All existing DCT subcontractors must have ConstructionLine registration in place from 1st January 2011 to be eligible for a position on our 'approved list'. You can apply by calling 0844 892 0313 or visiting www.constructionline.co.uk.
We are currently developing a simple application process for those companies wishing to become one of our 'approved suppliers'. Further information will be available on this page soon.
