Name: John Hensman Experience:John joined DCT in 2003 as the company's Business Development Manager, after thirteen years in a client-led environment working for Severn Trent Water and Haswell Consulting Engineers. Bringing invaluable client-side knowledge, John has worked hard to raise DCT's profile within the broad spectrum of the civil engineering sector, helping to reinforce the company's growing reputation for quality and service. In November 2006, John was appointed to Dew Construction's Board of Directors, a position that saw him overseeing business development for both Dew and DCT. Name: Ray Birch Experience:Ray graduated from Leeds University in 1985 with an honours degree in Civil Engineering. He has been with DCT since April 2003, joining as Project Manager for our high profile Trafford Centre Parkway Access project. Ray has spent approximately 20 years in the construction industry in roles ranging from site engineer to contracts manager, and has substantial experience in highway and infrastructure projects. Ray is now running a number of highway / structures improvement and private infrastructure projects in the position of Contracts Manager. He is particulary adept at working in partnership with clients and designers. | ![]() |
Name: Peter Heaton Experience: Peter has been involved in managing civil engineering projects for almost 30 years. In more than 15 years (in two spells) with DCT he has been involved with a wide variety of public works and water industry contracts, including specialist construction services such as shaft sinking and tunnelling. Peter was responsible for our AMP contract workload with Severn Trent Water and more recently has set up and been responsible for our Scottish office. | ![]() |
Name: Terry Lowe Experience:Terry has been supervising and managing civil engineering projects for over 30 years. He spent 6 years as a time-served mason with Oldham MBC, studying at Manchester College of Building, before becoming a Clerk of Works supervising highway construction and bridge projects. During his 34 years with DCT (or its predecessors) he has managed a wide variety of construction projects and is now responsible for our transport projects, dealing with roads, bridges, canals and other structures, together with pedestrianisation schemes and the installation of new infrastructure for private developments. | ![]() |
Name: Peter Place Experience: Peter has been involved in managing civil engineering projects for over 30 years, including reinforced concrete oil platform by slip form, road and railway bridges, highways, flood defences, shaft sinking, deep drainage and structural steelwork. Peter joined DCT in 2003 to manage a large storage project within the Yorkshire Water region, and is now the Framework Manager for our AMP4 Sewerage contract with Severn Trent Water. | ![]() |
